OLX Egypt has revealed indicators of selling and buying on its platform during the first half of 2022, in 4 main sectors, namely cars, real estate, products and jobs, based on data analysis of 280 million visits to the platform during that period. OLX has confirmed the presence of positive results in the four sectors.

OLX reported that despite the stagnancy in the automotive sector, it ranked first in terms of buying and selling movement, with almost 3 million buyers, more than 380K sellers, 550K listed ads, and more than 14 million interactions with car ads. In addition to, the presence of 84 million visits to automotive ads on the platform during the past 6 months of this year.

OLX Egypt noted that there is a slowdown in automotive sector sales, with a strong demand in used cars through the platform, which is commensurate with purchasing capabilities of a large percentage of customers.

As for the real estate sector, it witnessed the registration of more than one and a half million buyers and more than 355K sellers, besides more than 700K ads were listed. Moreover, almost 9 million people interacted on real estate ads, and received more than 40 million visits by the end of June.

OLX highlighted that the high demand for real estate maintains the continuity of the market and its activity, especially during the challenging periods as we live in and this makes that market stable somehow and guaranteed opportunity of investment.

Meanwhile, goods sector, which includes electronics, electrical appliances, furniture and other products, has registered more than 2 million buyers and more than 960K sellers, received more than 2 million advertisements, with more than 15 million people interacted with the goods ads, and received more than 60 million visits for this section during the first half of 2022.

More than 1 million persons registered using OLX to search for a job, 40K persons used OLX to list a job opportunity, more than 70,000 ads were listed on the platform, and more than 2 million people interacted with job ads in addition to recording 10 million visits to the platform to search for a job.

OLX elaborated that there are continuous customer visits to various sectors, especially after the comprehensive modernisation process that took place on the website, which focused on fundamental and formal change of the platform to meet customer requirements and bring seller and buyer closer.
